Psychology Service

GSL is now offering a Psychology service for children and young people (0-24yrs). This service will be facilitated by a Psychologist who holds General Registration with AHPRA. This service operates Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm. We are currently open for intake for participants who would like to engage in this service.

This service includes consultation, intervention and assessment. Our Psychology Service is individualised to support the participants’ goals by working towards tangible outcomes for their future.

Interventions could include:

  • Counseling or individual sessions: problem-solving and emotion regulation skills (e.g., what I can do if I feel frustrated, worried, or sad?)

  • Social skills (e.g., getting along with others & relationships)

  • Challenging behaviours and positive behaviour strategies (e.g., how can my needs and wants be met without upsetting or hurting others)

  • Skill development in independence and community participation

Assessments could include:

  • Adaptive behaviour (e.g., ABAS-3), cognitive assessment (e.g., WISC-V, WAIS-IV, WNV), or review report to support NDIS planning and inform supports.

This service can be covered by NDIS funding.  Private Sessions are also available for a fee. Medicare rebates apply with a valid GP Mental Health Care Plan. **Bulk Billing is currently available for a percentage of MHCP referrals. At present, this equates to 2-4 participants per week**. Please note: Rebates and fees are subject to an annual increase.
