Indigenous Education Program

At GSL: a Good Start to Life

we would like to acknowledge the

peoples who are the Traditional

Custodians of the Land.

We would also like to pay respect

to their Elders both past and present

and extend that respect to other

Indigenous Australians who are

present.

Funded by the Indigenous Advanced Strategy, GSL has partnered with Ngnoonbi Co-Operative Society to deliver our Indigenous Education Program.

The program supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students with a disability, living in the Cairns and Kuranda areas, to achieve educational outcomes

Download our brochure for more information.

GSL: a Good Start to Life partners with various community-based organisations to drive home the importance of attending school.

Here is one such a project where GSL and the people at Youth Link Kuranda joined forces to create a video that tells kids, on their level, to attend school.

Some valuable feedback recieved

What a great video!

The development of that would have been such an amazing learning opportunity for the young people involved.  Good work GSL & Youthlink

This is a fantastic initiative – great work to all involved!

This could be a great tool to use during conversations with parents/family members to initiate the “why” and how all of our supports could help.
